Use the XLPro26-E(AR)which imprints seven 2516 AR labels to imprint the condition "A", "B", "C" or "F" & date of inspection & cleaning. Few library tasks are better examples of great uses for hand-held labelers. As you clean the media, separate the inspected media into four groups, directed by your policy by # of errors. Then set your labeler to A 12/29/08 (today's date) & mark the nearly perfect media. Then move only one band by one notch, from A to B, then label the next group accordingly. Then change B to C & imprint & label the remaining passing media. Then mark the failed media with an F (just three notches to move on one band) & today's date. Turn in the failed media to the designated person to replace and toss. Reshelve the passing media.

Use a machine that cleans media & counts errors? You may imprint a 2516 label to indicate the condition of media & date last cleaned. Here is how: Separate the cleaned media into 4 piles. Mark the items with the fewest errors with an "A" & the date cleaned. "A 10/29/08" or "A 10/29/2008". Mark those barely passing with a "C" & the date etc. Mark the balance with an "F 10/29/2008" & set aside to be replaced and/or removed from your inventory.
